alternator swap

ok. from what im getting if i have an si alternator i do not have to put in a resistor.......question is, how do i know if i have an si or a cs alternator? im guessing its an si as all of the cs alt i see do not look like the one i have. is there a tell tale difference on the body of it or what should i be looking for?
