lifting door.
my driver side door is hanging a bit to where it is hitting the post when i close the door and want to lift it to align it and amke it close easy. do i have to remove the fender to get to the hinge bolts and make my adjustments? it looks like it is the only way but just wanted to know before i start. thanks.

Replace the hinge pins and bushings. That should cure the sagging issue.

I don't think it is an issue where the door is sagging due to mechanical parts because it is sturdy as can be if I lift it while door is open. I think it os more of alignment but correct me if I am wrong.

Yes u do have to replace the pin or the whole thing. Either way u have to take off the hood and fenders to do it. So you might as well put new hinges on while the doors are off. It’s smarter and easier to do. The pin and bushing don’t last that long I did it to mine and it last three years and now I’m replacing the whole thing on both sides, top and bottom so it will be tighter them with the pin and bushing kit.

It's normally the hinge pin / bushing that causes the sagging, but I'm surprised you don't have any play when you lift up on the door. You don't have to remove the fender or hood to remove the door.

if you remove the fender it makes it easier to put the door back on with out messing up the fenders paint. and its smarter to take off the fender so you can adjust the door to with nothing in the way of it opening or closing.

Without the fender there you have nothing to adjust or line the door to. I've put many doors on these trucks and have never taken the fenders off, unless I've had to replace them. Tape up the edges, and get a buddy to help, you need help anyway the doors are awkward to do by yourself (unless you have a door dolly).
To the OP... It sounds like it is your pins and bushings, but check your hinges as well. They may have slipped, It happened on one of my old trucks. The previous owner didn't tighten the bolts enough when he put new doors on the truck.

to put the door on the right way, you take off the fenders and put the door on. You use the back of the cab to macth the door up to and you use the cad to aline the door not the fender. you adjust the fender to the cab and door and not the door to the fender. i have freind that work at body shops and they all tell me to pull the fenders off. its the right way to do it. And if you lift the door and the cab moves it the bushing are bad it the door moves and not the cab it the bolt are lose.
