Those pics bring back some memories. my 2 door 2ss had a late model 350 in it. As light as these cars are it is easy to make them go fast.

Never saw an SS with a 6 banger before!! Thought they were all 283 at least. Maybe it stands for super slow in this case. Cute little car anyway, but then it is a Chev.

I had no idea 63's even had the V8 as an option. I know I have never seen an original V8 shoebox nova. I thought 66 was the first year of the V8 in the Novas. Plenty have had V8's added over the years but I thought they came with 6's ( maybe 4's as well ) as standard eqpt. Ive been on the swapping side of a few. Always found it hard to keep them from overheating with the V8 in them . Of course I was doing it with a guy who wanted to use electric fans so theres most of the problem.

Might I chime in here?

The first year for the Nova was in 62. The ONLY year for a vert SS was in 63 which were also 6 bangers. All SS cars in 63, vert or not were 6's.
The General didnt intro the V8 untill 64 which was a 283CI. The HO 327 was introduced in 65.
There has been a bit of debate as to weather or not the 63SS came with a *dealer* installed V8 but I dont know for sure.

I have owned a 67 and 2 68 trucks and now own a 63SS with a 68' 327. My fourth Nova by the way.
I wish I still had the 67 truck but had to sell it to get the Nova.
I WILL own another.

onelow69:

Nice ride, very clean.

Have to ask what's with the distributor. I've never seen one that has each bank of plugs located like those.

All 4 plug wires on each bank without crossing the wires. Makes for a clean setup.

What is that setup?

Those caps are neat for wire routing, but I have heard that they have a very common problem with crossfire within the cap. They use a cheap PC board in the cap to re-route the wires, and the spark will jump tracks very easily.

That is exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks Cleatussnow for looking out for me and 67sss for emailing me to tell me about it.

Now the only thing is how do I bid on this and where is it at?

nate68 I love my alburn posi, Its a cone style locker, every now and then I can here the cones locking up or unlocking, thats because I have soild bushing on my cal trac traction bars. It make the sound travel though the body, but oh so slighty.
Blue beard the HEI cap is called Cross Fire, and I bought for around $39 bucks. I have never had a problem with it. Its on a MSD billet HEI set up and the cam I have buzzes up to 6800 rpm all day long and runs Low 12s.
