Body Drops?

hey there

asking about body drops now, I know what they are, but I am just not grasping the concept how it's exactly done.

should I do a body drop before I do air ride, or do air ride then the body drop??

does anyone have any detailed pics, or sites of how to do a body drop on my GMC?

what all do I need to replace? any suspension parts? etc?

because if you drop the body then what about the interior(cab) of the truck, would it be closer to the roof? would it look funny?

thanks for any help again
James

LOL, I was just whoring up the other post talking about body drops.

In a "traditional" body drop....yes....the interior will be closer to the roof.

I can get you ALOT of posts about body drops on S-10's and while not specific to a fullsize GMC, there will be alot of useful pictures and comments.....

You really only need a bodydrop after you have the airide and you need that few extra inches lower to set the rocker panels flat on the ground. I like it when they shave the rockers and set the doors on the ground like at www.ifcustom.com

I have the traditional style body drop(body is dropped over the stock rails). mine is a very minor 1 1/2" drop, not set up to lay the rockers, but to add a little to the suspension drop......& keep parts off the pavement. Along with a 4" chop, the seating (headroom) is a little limited crazyL
