I'm going to order my lowering parts soon and I was wondering how low can you go front and back on 20" rims without C-notching the frame? I would like the 71 Blazer to sit level. I was thinking of on of these two, a 3-5 drop and a 2-4 drop. If you have any pictures that would be a big help too.

First is stock.
Then 2.5/4
Then 3.5/6

Personally I would go 4.5/6.

2.5 spindle

I have a CPP 3/5 drop on my '72 2wd Jimmy.

With the top on and the carpet and back seat out it sits a little high in the rear. Once I put the back seat and carpet in it should sit level. However, once I remove the top then it will again not sit level.

I had to put a c-notch in because the clearance between the axle tube and frame was too close and would have made contact while driving.

At some point I will be replacing the 5" rear springs with 6" springs.

Just got off the phone with ECE and they said you can do a 4/6 drop without c-notch. Does that sound right? Wouldn't the axle hit the frame with every little bump?

Next question, what is the easiest c-notch? The porterbuilt bolt in notch looks easy, but you have to take off the body.

You can do a 6" rear drop on a truck without a c-notch.
The blazer would need it.
I know that from my own 71 2wd blazer.

I agree with lolife, my Blazer has a 5/7 drop. 2" spindles, 3" coils in the front, 6" coils and 1" block in the rear. Before I added the 1" block I had to put in a c-notch because it was too close for comfort.

I would get the air bag kit from ECE for the rear if you can afford it. This will elimenate all the issuses of ride height differences due to top/seat/payload. Thats what I did, and I liked the ride so well that I put airbags on the front when I did my frame off. Oh, btw, I didnt notch my frame, because I never really had any problem with it before I quit driving it for the restoration process.

No need to remove the body for the cpp notch. It bolts from the sides and the bottom. Also the setup is McGaughy's 2.5" spindles and GMC Paul's 3" springs up front. GMC Paul's 5" springs and some 2" blocks out back. I used a McGaughy's adjustable panhard bar in the stock location (PB's panhard will not fit with the CPP notch by the way) and No Limit's shock relocator kit.

I have the coils you need , just removed them from my 72 to do air ride , there might be 2000 miles on them in total.

Can't speak for YBNORMAL but my blazer drives better now than before the drop.
