A little progress...

With everything else going on this weekend it almost over shadowded one of the high points. Read my post here- what did you get done thread?? for some of my adventures.

At the end of the weekend I finally got a chance to look at the progress on my Blazer. It doesn't look like a lots been done, but this gets it real close to having front suspension again....

That's better than nothing.

Good to hear you got featured and in the ART booth, well deserved.

Very cool Ken, I bet you are starting to get excited.

Can you tell us more about your plans for the Blazer? Things such as body mods, interior, drivetrain, etc...

Jeff there are a few things that I know, and others that change as we go.

The suspension-
Scott's HotRod IFS will get the front down where I want it and still roll at a very low height. As you can see the front frame rails are built from scratch to accomidate the IFS and the motor.

The rear axle will be a 10 bolt with with 3.73's and a posi suspended with a 4 link. I'm not sure if they will modify the triangulated Air Ride Tech that's under it now, or build one from scratch. The body tub and fenderwells will be raised in the rear to clear the axle and the tires.

I will be running an LS1 with a cam/intake change that should get me around 400 hp.

Exterior mods have yet to be determined but it will different. You may see one or two mods that are obvious, but suttle mods that make you lwonder what was done are my thing.

The interior is "really" up in the air. I have some cool ideas, but I need to find an interior guy that's in tune with what I want, and will do it for under $10k.....

I'm trying to stay in tune with the deal but it's hard. Now that Stoked Out has the 50 Chevy truck done they can focus on my Blazer a bit more. Roger said he want to hang the IFS this week. That means the rails have to be in place so it should start to look like a truck again. Once the front is set up he will start on getting the rear where it needs to be. Hopefully I will have a finished rolling chassis in a few more months.....

Thanks for the props on the Air Ride deal. I was fortunate enough to have a couple of buddies put me in that position. It helps when Stoked Out Specialties is the #1 Air Ride Dealer in the area....

That's a NICE front clip, Ken. Makes me want to start all over w/ custom mandrel bent frame rails.

Hey it's only time and money, go ahead...

Actually as nice as those turned out they aren't mandrel bent. They made templates for all the sides and had them cut on a burn table. There are more than a couple of hours worth of tigging and grinding involved there...

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan Ken!

Not trying to pop your bubble or anything but the front frame stubs can't get to far down the road until we decide where the front cross member will be located. We need to decide if we keep it stock or do we move it up or ? I talked with Roger yesterday and we are planning to start moving into the new fab building this weekend so we need to get the front somewhat on the Blazer so we can move it as well........ just putting a little more pressure on you my friend

What I'm saying is I talked to Roger for 45 minutes yesterday and he never mentioned the Blazer front end. I'll call him today and see where we are at.

Maybe while your out cruising in the 77 you can figure out why I'm getting flakey pressure readings.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Hey Scoti, you can drive when we go to the round-d round races. It's been raining so we don't want to get our trucks dirty plus it's on the way to the dump so we can drop the trash off from the shop!
