You can run a vacuum gauge on a Small Block

Basically, a vacuum gauge shows the difference between outside atmospheric pressure and the amount of vacuum present in the intake manifold. The pistons in the engine serve as suction pumps and the amount of vacuum they create is affected by the related actions of:

Piston rings
Valves
Ignition system
Fuel control system, Carburetor
Other parts affecting the combustion process

In a nut shell, a vacuum gauge is a great on-board instrument to have on your dash board

Not Necessarily. You can run individual wires from the tach to Ground/Power/HEI - with spade connector ends

Very tempting. Any way to remove the red paint without damage?

Only way is to mask them and repaint them. Removing them I hear is not an easy task.

At this time no because I have gotten rid of my truck. I hoping to sell the tach/vac dash as I have plans for the cash. If anything changes, I certainly let you know.

Thanks, Harry
