I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
cleaning the underside of my cab with a wire wheel so I can put an undercoating on it. Worst thing I have had to do on my truck so far.
Before ![]() After ![]() I will post up some pics after I get it coated.

Good job man! Did you do the welding yourself? I really need to learn to weld.

Worth the effort. How did you flip the cab on it's back without damaging any of the panels (i.e. Cab Corners)???

Re: I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
if you look at the floor of his truck he's got it on caster wheels so it's off the ground.
This is the reason I bought a small sandblaster using a wire wheels sucks I've had too many wires get stuck in my arms or leg.

Re: I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
I had my brother and two other buddies come over lastnight. We lifted the cab off by hand. I was light enough for two people to lift it. We then just rotated it in the air and set in on the casters, which are my wheel dollies that I made. I have done all the welding my self. This was my first restoration project which has been on going since 2005. It is neat to see how much better I have gotten at doing the body work over the years. The right side was my first and it looks like crap compared to some of the last panels I have replaced.

Here is a pic of the dolly. I have four of them so I can spin the pickup 360* in the garage with little ease.

Re: I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
don't bother with rubber undercoating, moisture goes through it and it flakes off after a couple years........use zinc primer and top coat with a good poly bed liner coating such as al's liner.

Re: I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
Finished product. Turned out better than I expected. Good thing I had a friend stop by to help or else I might have been in trouble. I have about $80 invested.
![]() This is what I used. ![]()

Thankfully you had some strong guys around to do it. It is so much easier to work like that. I think it is even better than a lift - your still upsidedown with the lift, just higher off the ground.

Re: I I just spent the last 3 hours doing.................
It was easy to install. It seems like it will be durable. I personally wouldn't put it in my bed just because I don't like the finish. It isn't like line x . It will be fine for under a cab though. I rolled on what I could and then just slopped it on pretty thick with a brush everywhere else. I used about 3/4 of the gallon.
