What is the difference between Bucket seats for a blazer to those for a pickup?

The seats are the same I believe, but the center console is different. The blazer has cupholders and the truck console has square slots to hold the ends of your seatbelts.

For 69-72 there is no difference other than the passenger side brackets and plastic backs on the seats themselves. On trucks the passenger brackets were fixed steel brackets that do not allow adjustment. On Blazers, the bracket is designed to flip the seat forward to allow access to rear seat. Truck buckets do not have plastic backings. Some Blazers were equipped with utility seats which are like mini-bench seats with steel backs, i.e. not contoured for the fanny.

All 69-72 consoles had rectangular holes for the seat belt buckles. 73-up wen to cup holders.

Yeah I learned it on this board on a previous thread about buckets. Mine is used as a cell phone holder though

As I'm wandering around junkyards, which seats and consoles are the most sought after? I'll keep an eye out if I know what to look for.

Thank you all for your help. I have a lead on some seat cores that I will have redone for my 72. I just wanted to know for sure if thier was a differnce. Thanks again Frank

I got bucket seats out of a 73 cheyenne and it had the square holes and no cup holders

73 and up blazer buckets are similar and can be made to work for our version seat covers with a little foam cutting. The 73 and up bucket seat brackets are 1.5 inches higher than the correct 69-72 brackets for buckets. The 73 up brackets will put the seats at a height thats viewable through the back window, which would not be desirable.
The consoles could have come with either cup holders or seat belt holder up between 73-75... although 69-72 consoles came with just seat belt holder rectangles.
