'78 Short Bed C10 Drag Truck?
Hey all, a buddy of mine has an old 78 short bed c10 that has been sitting off of the road for a good 3 years now and we were thinking about breathing some new life into it! It is a decent little truck and neither of us want to see it scrapped.
So what I am in visioning with this truck is something like -Single Turbo 454 -TH400 -wide drag tires -a locker in the rear end I could be way off the mark with this as I have never built a drag truck, but the truck scoots as it is with a small block so I figure that should make it scoot more, There could be a better route though. I am hoping some of you could pitch in your thoughts and ideas on the build? Any better suggestions? I'd love to hear a lot of opinions as this project is just in the ideas phase. Thanks!

If you want to do it with less $$$$ then by a junkyard LS and a good turbo and go from there. Big blocks can get expensive and the LS has proven that it can take a beating.

Make a budget,,
. . . . . . then double it,, . . . . . . . then double that. With luck that will get you to the track. LOL, this hobby is not for the 'faint of budget' . If a part says it costs $200,,, expect $250-300 before you have the right bolts brackets, glues and lube. Then you can take a look at what that is going to cause you to have to upgrade. If you dont,, trust me the next weakest link will show it's ugly head soon enough.
