New from SI, NY

Hi, all-- Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been into antique cars since I was 16. Been a member and officer of local and national Studebaker Drivers Club and Nash Car Club of America. My father was an aircraft mechanic and my brother was an auto mechanic. Despite these genes not appearing in me, I love motor driven vehicles. I currently own a 57 Studebaker, 63 Valiant and 81 Imperial.

My newest acquisition, which brought me to these group, is a 1983 GMC Dump Truck with a new GM 350 crate engine and four speed tranny. Why a dumpster? Simple: I like to do things differently from everybody else. As soon as spring arrives the truck will be getting a complete sprucing up. I also have a lead on an 86 Ram with 318.

Please excuse the length of this introduction. I am just new at this truck business, I am no mechanic; but, I like to tinker!

Happy New Year!!!
George

Thanks to all for the welcome. Hoods, "Thanks for the compliment about my group of motors!" My family, however, thinks that I am certifiable. Maybe I should use MadMotorman instead of Bus Prof!!!
