Question Here is a good one!

Hello all,

I have always had very good luck with getting info needed about my truck from this forum.

I recently started leaking oil from the back of my 1966 gmc 305v6. I appears that a bolt has back out of the motor. There are two bolts in the plate under the coil pack and one of them is gone. Under the plate is a direct path for oil to leak out of the motor. I have search and called different vendors to find out what the size of the bolt it is and if there is a seal/way to prevent oil from leaking from the mounting plate. If anyone know what size bolt and were to get them it would be of great help.

Thank you to all that have helped in the past and in the future.

DB

Re: Here is a good one!

This may not be the answer you're looking for or wanting but I would take out the other bolt holding the coil bracket and find a match at your local hardware store. I am doubtful they are a special fastener or application specific. When reinstalling them, apply a small amount of RTV Silicone sealer to the bolt threads to keep the oil from leaking past the threads.
