Re: YOU guys have to see this

I have seen pictures of that truck, and the small details just put it over the top. Little stuff like how the inner fender has a smooth molded place for the steering shaft to go through, or how he did the radiator cover, ect. and that just the engine compartment. That truck is so clean. That motor does look tiny in there, but thats just because everyone is so used to looking under the hood of modern cars where they cram EVERYTHING under the hood, and you can barely get a piece of paper between some things. I do like how it makes the motor the focal point when you open the hood, and then you start to look round and notice all the small details making it just that much cooler.

Re: YOU guys have to see this

Its without a doubt a beautiful engine bay....

I think its a little boring with the current motor set up. Swab out the sbc with a LS3 and a polished magnacharger and custom aluminum valve covers.

Or perhaps a billet serpentine set up new polished valve covers and intake manifold/air cleaner and you would have a show stopper.

I'm in love
Anyone else reminded of the engine bay of the Camero in the first transformers?

Me too... I like the "mechanical" look. Wires, linkages, fuel lines... etc.

Re: YOU guys have to see this

i love the LOOK but ....i would agree that a big block or a fully polished LS motor would really take it over the top !!

X2 for me on this one I'm afraid...looks like a trunk with an engine poking through the floor. Sorry.

I would be afraid to work on it, I am always dropping wrenches and clanging around in there.

Re: YOU guys have to see this

Don't get me wrong. This is FAR nicer than anything I drive, but I'm huge on consistency and I think that is where this truck is lacking. I mean for the first minute I was like WOW. And I still think the execution is phenomenal, BUT......

if he was going smoothie (he obviously is) then:
-why not some trick billet hood hinges?
-hood hinge looks very out of place to me
-The upper radiator hose is out of place in this engine compartment
-I would have preferred a black insert detail on the bottom side of the hood
-If center bolt valve covers are a must, then smooth polished aluminum with flush screws is a must
-And the air cleaner is eh....don't care for it here.

And yes I am someone who appreciates craftsmanship, but certain things to me just stick out like a sore thumb.

Re: YOU guys have to see this

I can be too critical at times......I do really like this engine compartment and the details. Just things I would change. To each his own....
