Re: door logo???

I am all for door logos. Going with the flat paint stepside shop truck look for my ride so I will have one. For your sweet truck I think that you may have to lose that molding for it to look right. Best of luck

Re: door logo???

I personally think they are great for a truck you will NEVER sell.
They are a big turn off for me when I'm looking at a truck to buy, that has one.
They are to personalized to the current owner.

The only exception would be a REAL shop truck from back in the day.

Re: door logo???

I think a logo would look awesome, but also looks good just as it is..Definitly DO NOT ditch the trim though, that would be nuts! IMO

Re: door logo???

I'd say no to the door logos on this particular truck. I think she looks beautiful as is. I do think logos look good on some trucks. It might look good, but it would depend on the design. I may be changing my mind if I see what you're thinking.

Re: door logo???

Duane, your 100% right about looking good on some trucks. I'll try and get a design drawn up.

TrkEnvy, how about the whole mariachi band...

Talking Re: door logo???

I wrestled around the idea of the shop truck with door logos for a.long time myself , it makes these trucks mor fun I think , yours will look great with a shop logo , and as far as selling it I think it would not hurt the value at all ,,,

Re: door logo???

That truck would look awesome with a logo. Do you dabble in working in these truck for other people or just your own? I enjoy doing the LS swaps so I'm going to put my screen name on my truck and do a little side work!! What did you have in mind for a logo?

You weren't kidding when you said you didn't post much! (Edit, never mind... it's march 2014 now, thought it said 2012...)

As for the OP's truck... it just doesn't have that shop truck look (too nice?) I'd vote no for this one. Love your truck. You almost don't notice the blue two tone at first, very well done.

Re: door logo???

I think "Original " one's from back in the day are a piece of folk art ! It took over 20 years for me to acquire this GMC from the first owner, when ever I drive it people come up and start reminiscing about it or the piece of furniture it delivered to their house.

Re: door logo???

If they came on your beater, now that's just too cool! If you have a business, here's a chance to set the truck off all the more, while making a great statement for the company. If you just want to have the look,eh...that's kinda neat in some cases. That's my take. Truck looks too good as is to mess up. My take #2

Re: door logo???

I think if it is tastefully done like Tootsie (superflysteiny) they can really make your truck really stand out. The trick is designing one that would look cool.

Re: door logo???

How about a vinyl logo? They look sharp, and you can take it off when you want to sell the truck.

Re: door logo???

It so depends on what your going to do and the style. I initially was thinking no way because your truck is just to clean. I was thinking more patina style. Tootsie's style is so well done and tasteful.

I think if you went with crisp & clean - just a little caffeine (sorry had to do it) you could pull it off.

Who cares its your truck - rock it out. Sweet ride btw

Re: door logo???

I think if you do one they need to be hand painted to stick with how it was done in the 60s. If you do it with sign paint on top of the clear it can be removed later.

I've been debating the door logo idea myself (I own a concrete company) but have also thought about doing it on the upper tailgate instead...or 1/2 the upper gate.
I don't see them very often.

Re: door logo???

There's a post on here about a non permanent door logo material.

I think it was like a plasti dip, and it just peels off if you don't like
