June 2020 ToTM
For our June 2020 Truck of the Month (ToTM) contest the theme is
Old Mule As you will see, I limited the years of trucks to cover as many as I can, but not get the new stuff that many are using for work. The idea is for those older trucks that we got and tweaked (either by the current owner or someone prior to their ownership) to fit a specific job or series of work tasks. Here are the criteria for this month’s contest.
To Nominate: You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. One key aspect is we need 1 full picture of the truck and 1 showing it doing its work or tasks. This could be hauling loads or towing. In addition, we will need the owner’s board name and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. Nominations will run through May 24. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up May 25 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of June 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of June 1. The announcement of the ToTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Re: June 2020 ToTM
Here's one real deal 1962 C20. Not heavily modified, but a bone-stock legit original survivor. Properly set up for work with period correct toolbox and lumber rack.
235 six, 3 speed on the column (with overdrive), 410 rear, and crazy tall 19.5's. This is the "old man" of my small collection. I've had it the longest, worked it the hardest, and probably enjoyed it the most! |

I nominate JDLs Iowa based ‘71 Longhorn. A wonderful old survivor with a number of well done modifications to be the ultimate fifth wheel hauler back in the day.........

Some features JDL shared about this GMC:
Tag axle Fully retractable and controlled hydraulically with valving split through the power steering pump, tag axle has functioning brakes as well! Doug Nash Overdrive behind the turbo 400. Second alternator for additional charging. Modified big block for additional towing power. Stock AM radio plus FM cassette deck PLUS 8track player. I’m sure there’s more I don’t know about...... Re: June 2020 ToTM
I just got this truck still finding new things about it. This truck has been acros the country and back stickers from most western and the south even Alaska. The camper in the pick was originally a slide in bot new in Idaho and they drove out to get it in 84 and it is in the order that he had the tag axle on it thin. I have drove it local and on a couple trips over 200 mile it did well and got some attention.
