Anyone make a dual exhaust kit for the K10's? I've been lookin and seen a few "universal" kits, but even those were 2 1/4. I was hoping someone made a 2 1/2 kit hat would fit the 4x4. I already have a decent 2 1/4 on there now, but was lookin to upgrade. Any info would be great. Thanks.

not to hijack, but I am looking aswell

come spring I would like a full exhaust system, including headers....prefer longtubes. True dual is possible, but will settle for a y-pipe if nessessary

Guess that makes three of us, I have been looking for a long time.
My last step was to install my mufflers with a H pipe and have the local muffler shop bend me up a set all the way out the back and install them myself.

I have a 2 wheel drive with headers (long) every thing in the back is the same for 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive so ill tell you what i did.

Its very simple really. I had them made at my exhaust guy. I havent really ever found anyone that makes them for the truck so i had them made hope this helps.

Hope i didnt sound like an A%# been sick and just thought it would sound funny.

I was trying to avoid going to a shop since technically my truck (84) shouldn't have duals, and currently has no cat(s). I don't wanna get into a hassle with them about the lack of converters. I know some I have dealt with around me are real sticklers about installing a "non-stock" system that would eliminate emissions stuff.

I got mine at Summit (Right around the corner in Sparks, NV) in November '05. Think I spent about $280 for Summit Headers (Blackjacks), Hooker Dual Exhaust (Fitted Pipes and clamps) & Summit Turbo Muffs - Loops over the rear axle and curves out behind the tire.. Took about 4 easy hours to install.

So far I like them on my 80 K10. Sounds good, runs good. Just watch the passenger side exhaust tube over the T/C crossmember. Mine got the header collector outlet and tube at about 11º off. Went with "Header Buddy's" - no leaks and allowed for the mis-alignment.

I saw the 2 1/2 system with the X pipe, but it was listed as fitting 2wd. I figured the X-pipe may interfere with the transfer case, but not sure.

I also saw the Hooker setup in the Summit catalog. Too bad it is 2 1/4, other wise it would do the job nicely. Guess I'll have to increase my search for locals who will bend me a 2 1/2 setup.

You may want to PHISH around (he-he) Summits website. I believe they do have the Hooker for 2 1/2.

they're only 2 1/4", but for anything smaller than a healthy 383 they'll do just fine. they're 100% mandrel bent (NOT what your local exhaust shop will do) and fit great.

Not gonna have anything too healthy in it. Just a 350 with a mild cam and a TPI conversion. My current exhaust isnt too terrible, but was done kinda half-assed by whoever did it, and doesn't really fit worth a spit. Thanks for the info guys.

What exhaust mufflers would deliver that deep throatee sound that I here some guys have? Also is the sound different for a 350 than a 454?

my deep throatee sound comes from a my dual exhaust with glass packs. no cats, There quite for a bit then get loud after a bit to melt a bit of the glass. Now there nice and throatee

Magnaflows are where its at for a deep throaty sound. glasspacks will be raspy and sound like crap.

Mine are great there not like the rice burners or the good old cherry bomb. they look like a muffler but filled with the glass instead.

i have dual 3" exhaust on my '84 and it is all custom...the biggest thing about doing dual exhuast on a 4X4 is getting (in chevy's case) over the transfer case....with the 3" inch it basically meant that i had to make a few trips to the exhaust shop....and then the reducers i also had the exhaust shop make.... i think where the exhaust goes over the transfer case only clears by about 1/2 an inch....but i've had it on for almost 2 years now without any problems.....other than breaking one hanger due to the motor torquing...but as far as i know...i don't believe they make a kit for dual exhaust on a 4X4 of that body style...the bends to go over the transfer case have to be pretty drastic...

the other thing i would suggest.....don't put 3" in/outlet Cherry Bombs or Glass Packs on dual 3" unless youi really like a loud truck....i've been told you can hear mind running at about 1,000rpms from about 2 miles away....

When you say deep I believe Flowmaster is tops in that department. Magnaflows are suppose to flow better because of the straight through design. Magnaflows to me are the best TURBO muffler. Flowmaster and Hookers aero chambers are chambered mufflers.They are throaty and deep, but have a drone sound inside the cab(flowmaster40's/Hookers). I think the drone is only really noticeable if the mufflers are dumped under the vehicle, but thats the deepest and best sound to me. I have Flowmasters on my 84SWB, and Magnaflows on my 85LWB. Both of the systems are dumped in front of the rearend. Hookers have a deep throaty sound and are the cheapest of the three I listed. I had them on my first 84 LWB(stolen) and they were dumped, as well. I think the lack of sound-absorbing material in the Flowmaster and Hookers create the drone heard inside the cab.
