Lowering (with air suspension in mind)

Hi guys, 1st time poster here.

I just picked up a '68 C10 and plan to bag it someday... unfortunately, 'someday' isn't in the foreseeable future. So my question is: is there a preferred method of lowering this bad boy that will prepare it for the air setup it will eventually have? Specifically, are drop spindles utilized with a bag setup or should I avoid that because they'll be obsolete once I convert it to air? I appreciate your help and apologize for the noobie question.

thanks in advance!
