Fuel Line pump to carb

I tried to do a search but the results were overwhelming. I have a 66 292 C20, my son is starting to tinker with in autoshop. He cracked the steel fuel line taking the carb off. I am finding 1967 lines, but not 60-66. Would that 67 work? Is there much difference in the 292 between those years? What are some other options-rubber, I found some guys saying they used steel brake line bent carefully, steel braided?

Pretty straight forward to bend and flare a new one, using the original as a sample. Fittings and steel line are available at most of the automotive stores.
They may even have a tool loan program for the flaring tool and bender.
I try to avoid using rubber fuel line as much as possible.

i agree with Nanook always best to have as little rubber as you can .. also since he is doing this in auto shop im assuming you mean school ? anyway it will be a great asset to him if you bought or he bought the metal fuel line and the fittings and rented the tool and he takes it to auto shop class and learns how to do a proper flair and make solid lines . it will be something he will use for years to come if he sticks with the hobby of automotive as its also the same tool for making brake lines ... transmission lines ... trust me its something i wish i knew how to do .. i did not get auto shop class and did not do well in school . im 42 yrs old and just now learning things like this . lol

Agree with what's been said. Be good practice for sure, and he can custom make the line even.
