Beautiful truck. I've seen some even higher priced that were not as nice as this one. It's a dealer in OC, what do you expect?

No that one was a Chevy and it had bucket seats. I saw that one in person and it was beautifully done as well.

Wow! He even has the ultra rare Factory Production 8-Ball shift knob.
Obviously seen more than 7 miles since 1971. Must mean 7 miles since major ''every-nut-and-bolt" rebuild.
Very nice truck. I am partial to '71 GMCs but this one's too rich for my blood.

Very nice truck- black is hard to beat. Chassis is well detailed. Nice to see a SPID too. Wonder why the driver side seat belt looks like its just laying there? Should have a fan shroud & correct 4x4 upper radiator pipe & hose for 80K.

Picking it apart:

axle u-bolts too long
yellow zinc bolts used on shackles/shocks
wrong radiator - aluminum painted black (does't fit upper mounts)
no shroud
wrong upper rad hose
cheesy battery terminals
tie rod bent (may be optical illusion)
zip tie on brake lines
incorrect finish on hardware
ralley wheels
driver's seat belt
parking brake release is weathered
wrong shift knob
radio
SPID appears new but made to look old?
no rosette rivets on VIN plate
no side mount wheel carrier
zip ties on heater hoses
driver's front spring hanger stop strap - something's goofy, welded on in wrong place?
Wiper blades
tach is not on SPID
seat cloth doesn't match SPID
(sure there's more I missed)

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't throw it out of my garage. All of these items are minor. Except for the radiator/shroud/hose I'd just drive it. But for that price I expect more.

B. W. - you didn't catch the dome light switches are missing too! It does say in the fine print that the shroud is included- just noticed

They will throw in the shroud, and the decals...some installation required! Why peel the SPID when you can see one under it? Do I want it hell yass, but I'll stick with my lolo with A/C for about 5-6000 invested.

Beautiful and one of the nicest I've seen. No comment on the price. My only criticism of the truck is I'd have sooner had some chrome vinyl letters done on the tailgate (if not painted like original) that added those engine badges that don't belong. It's a mild mild mild custom with the wheels ans exhaust, so why not dress up that rear and show off it's GMC pride? For that money they could have done what I dream of, chrome the tailgate, polish the letters, rubber mask them, blast the gate, and paint the gate. Have real chrome letters! A truly custom touch.

Black with rallys is simply stunning.

But I have to agree with all the "picking apart details" in the posts above.

I wouldn't spend $80,000 on a pickup truck just on principle.

Is it my imagination, or is one of the bed supports missing under the wood?
Also, if they're going to go "original", why did they put those wheels, and an 8k rpm tach in?
I'll bet it'll match some old Guy's girlfriend's new shoes.

everyone rips the truck apart but I don't see anywhere where the dealer claims the truck is restored to 100% correct.

truck has one hell of a paint job on it. prolly spent 30k just on the bodywork/paint

Its nice truck...and definitely finished off better than 98% of the trucks on this site for sure.

However.....$80K.....I'm out, for any number of reasons...mostly 80,000 reasons...lol

But somewhere out there....is a guy with very deep pockets who doesn't want to work much on his classic purchase....just get in, turn the key, plug and play and that is probably the case with this truck.
So be it....plus, if it sells....well then, it pulls the value of a lot of our trucks up with it, which can be a good thing on sale day.
