Showing off my recent Craigslist buys

Last nite I picked up this set of 5 lug,15X8 rallys. The guy was asking $100.00 but took $90.00.He had bought a new chevy truck under the CFC sale.Wonder what his old truck looked like.Last year off Craigslist I bought a set of near perfect rally trim rings and center caps for $15.00.So I'm set on the wheel side of things.Last Saturday spotted these on Craigs a couple of towns away.My brother who lives closer ran up and brought home a set of SBC ceramic coated block hugger headers and down pipes for $60.00.Way Cool. One ? about the headers there is a couple of spots where the coating has been knock off when changing spark plugs. Can you touch that stuff up? Or have the recoated?Wonder what that cost?I have noticed a lot of stuff up for sale these days.I hate it that folks are getting tight on money. But at the same time its nice to have a little bit to spend.

You can have the headers re-coated. Fit them up first and see if you want to do any clearancing for plug sockets & bolts then send them off to somebody like Jet Hot.

Check around for local places that can ceramic coat stuff. The shipping will cost you just about as much as the coating will.

You will have problems getting the headers to work on your truck (on the drivers side) without cutting part of the motor mount. I have these on my truck and it was a PITA to get them to fit correctly.

Re: Showing off my recent Craigslist buys

I modified a set of these to fit a 68 Jaguar XJ-6 when I put an LT1 into it.

I cut off the collector flange and replaced it with 90 degrees of a mandrel U-bend. Worked pretty slick. This might be an option instead of cutting the truck motor mount to make them work.

If you are going to get them re-coated this is no big deal.
