Long Time Gone

I have been off the board for a while, but since I started working on the truck again...I'm back. I quit drag racing and sold my previous 69 Yenko Nova clone....it will be on Pinks in the near future. I bought and built my dream car, a 69 Chevelle. It is 95% done, soooo...it's back to the pick up.
Here are some details on the truck
1972 Chevy C-10
Factory Paint, ordered with no trim.
Factory Tach, 402 Th400 truck. Too bad the BB is gone....350 for now. I am rebuilding a 454 for it too. 3.73 Posi
5.5"/6" drop, Spring and spindles. C notched, and some crap summit shocks.
15x8 Centerline TelStars and BFG Rubber.
I am working on some custom interior stuff right now with some mild stereo stuff and a console with cup holders.
Here are a few pics...

Re: Long Time Gone

I think that the ass end needs to come down another inch or so....what do you guys think?

What else would you guys do? This is my summer daily driver...and eventually it will get a repaint in the same color.

Re: Long Time Gone

Hey Mad Dog,

Hellow thar from Wallburg, NC.

If you're soliciting opinions, I say keep the drop the way it is now. I like 'em with a bit 'o rake to 'em.

Does the 350 have HEI? They say that's one of the best mods for yer motor.

Also highly recommended is the headlight relay and high output alt. Those are some simple mods, if you don't have already.

If yer shocks are crap, might wanna change dem two.

I like the truck the way it looks though. It's gotta lotta 'tude. Bad 'tude.

Re: Long Time Gone

If that's a drop in bed liner I would get rid off that.
Otherwise, looks great how it is.

Re: Long Time Gone

cool!

I have two questions:
where did you get the red bowtie?
Did you paint the grille black, if so what did you use?

I pulled the grille emblem apart, and sprayed the plastic with some hugger orange paint I had left over from painting the Nova.

I painted the grille with Krylon Fusion Gloss black paint. I painted the emblem and the grille about a year and a half ago, and it has really held up well.

Re: Long Time Gone

I already did the HEI conversion, and I'm doing the H4 headlight upgrade shortly.

The drop in Bed liner was in there to keep the bed decent while I was moving alot of engine parts around. I will be putting my hinged tonneu cover back on when I get it back outta the garage in spring.

Other than the over-the-rail bed liner, I love it the way it is! Can we see some interior pics?
