Where did you buy you chassis service and factory assembly manuals from?

Team:

Looking for a vendor or location that sells a good reprint of these manuals. I have heard some are not as good as reprints as others.

Please provide your input.

Mahalo.

Both the chassis overhaul manual and factory assembly manual.

For the shop and service manual I got originals off fleabay. For the assembly manual I got one from a forum vendor. I later got a digital version of the assembly manual and have not opened the hard copy since. The digital version is top notch, searchable, and if needed you can print out a page or two. I have it on my laptop and iPad which came in very handy when I spiffied up my truck last year. The digital version also from fleabay, Dave Graham Auto Literature, just search for 1970 Chevy truck assembly manual.

LeeH:

Another great post, thanks. That is good to know on the electronic version because I am definitely on the fence. I have always loved a hard copy to my literature, but I have heard the FAM is a beast of a book.

I downloaded a FAM index from one of our forum posts, which could help in that arena with a hard copy. I keep my eye on fleabay for originals, getting to the point that I can't wait for an original and need the book; if that makes sense.

Mahalo,
