Re: "Subtle" has new "show" accessories

Putter, I thought you were just messing with me this morning when you said you were going to post these.

The show was Arkansas Blast at the State Fairgrounds in Little Rock this past weekend. (Therefore I was not able to make it up to the Woodward dream cruise.) We were at this show supporting one of our local dealers, DeBoard Electronics out of Conway, Arkansas. We had the Polk F150 in their booth. Polk had a separate booth close by DeBoard's that had a sweet '96 VW GTi turbocharged and making about 380 horse at the wheels, my buddy's Kandy apple red '96 Silverado that is in this month's StreetTrucks magazine (September 2006), and ol' whitey got dusted off and rounded out the booth. The guys at CS Soundoff were nice enough to bring her(subtle) and my wife up on Friday afternoon in the enclosed trailer. And before Putter asks, the truck was in the trailer, my wife behaved herself and got to ride inside the truck!

Re: "Subtle" has new "show" accessories

By the way, ol' whitey and my friend's '96 Chevy both took home first place trophies in their classes. The VW took home second place. Here are some shots of them. These are for 70 rs/ss' benefit! The last pic shows off Putter's handywork with the fuel door/side marker project.

Dean,
Go back up to my second pic. Is that a tag you put on at the show, or is that one registered in Mississippi & legal? Just curious.

Mmmmm...carshow chicks.......

Ahhh! The wonderful world of eBay! It is an original 1971 Mississippi "sample" plate. I picked it up in almost like new condition for only $10. Score! I also have a couple of new unissued Pike county MS 1971 tags off eBay and one issued rusty 1971 Pike county MS tag that I got at a flea market. Apparently ALL tags expired in the month of October back then. I put this plate on at shows and for photo shoots. The company had a problem with someone filing a false hit and run accident report against one of my old company demo vehicles. Little did they know that not only was that demo vehicle not in Maryland during that month, we had sold it to the guy with the '96 Silverado about 12 days before the "accident" alledgedly happened. I try this as a "preventitive measure".

You work for "tha man". Can we register classic plates yet, like other states can?

Re: "Subtle" has new "show" accessories

In AZ you can register them with the old plate and or a correct vintage plate (even if it was never used on the car in the past) I have my original AZ plate on my Camaro (it was on it when I bought it), yeah I know I suck cause I found a rust free 70 RS/SS Camaro that had been parked for the last 20 years of its life with all OEM equipment still there, right down to the rotted Bias ply tires. I think most states have gone to a classic plate deal since the hot rodding business is so huge!

PS thanks for the picts, I love........cars, yeah that's it cars!!

From what I hear, the upkeep and routine maintenance on one of those is out of this world.
But I would like to borrow one from time-to-time......
