Re: Just "Before and After" thread.

Unfortunately it wasn't as good as it looks. The original owner had a deer collision that bent the hood badly on the right side, and the passenger side hump was about 3/4" higher than the driver side. They had attempted repairs, and work hardened almost the whole right top panel.

At the time I was painting the truck black lacquer and it just wasn't good enough, so I gave it to a local restorer. It was much better than what he already had. I really miss the double hump top, although I was never a real fan of the GMC hood. If I ever find a dent and rust free 1960 Chevy hood at an affordable price, that will be replacing the 63-66 hood.

Re: Just "Before and After" thread.

Nice work guys. I'll have to wait to post since all I'd have is before shots.

aerotruk63, I didn't realize that was your ride. I've had it in my personal gallery of trucks file for longer than I've had my truck. Gotta love it.

Re: Just "Before and After" thread.

I must like it, I've been paying for storage for 24 years.
I'm more excited for my 4WD I'm building, It's more of who I am, ready to work, always dirty, willing to go anywhere.

Yeh, my truck is closer to who I am too. It needs starter fluid to get it going in the morning, it's a little rusty, never gets too far from home.

Re: Just "Before and After" thread.

Day I brought it home. It was shipped from Alabama to upstate NY, drove down and pulled it back up across the border. It was dirty.

How it looks now...
