Re: eaton posi rebuild question

Awe man....I don't know if I can find the link or not. There is a guy on Team Camaro that walked me through it and he had some great techniques. On was to bolt the loose axle to the wheel on the floor so the spines are sticking straight up and use that to roll the side gears into place as you hold the carrier. You can get the clutch pack good and tight. I think the trick is to make sure the side gears are really snug against the spider gears. All I know is my Eaton is darn near like a spool with zero noise and serious black marks. I will look for it.

Re: eaton posi rebuild question

Okay.....found it! The first part is a little blah, blah, blah, but it give you an idea of what I started with. The next link is having "big gear head" (freddie) explain how to get the clutch pack tight using the axle spline while bolted to a wheel on the floor. This guys is the sheet on Team Camaro when it comes to diffs. Hopefully it will make sense to you. I had ever done anything like that at that time and it worked perfect!!!

Not sure about the year, but thought this might help you.
