clutch

i've got a 1968 chevy 1/2 ton truck that had a l6 in. but now i have a 1986 350. the fork is maxed out. it does'nt go in gear. what bellhousing , fork or ball. do i need. thanks

Shouldn't matter if you used the same clutch. More info--motor placement, did you use the same bellhousing? clutch? t.o bearing? fork?

If the clutch "Z" bar is in the right position and you are using truck components for the linkage, the most likely problem is the throw out bearing.

There are two different lengths and if you use the short one on a clutch that needs the long one, this problem will occur.

Did you just use the 6 cylinder flywheel, clutch, throw out bearing, and bellhousing on the 350?

If you kept all of the same stuff together, it has to be a linkage problem.

I mean, the clutch worked before you swapped engine right?

i got a new clutch,throw out bearing for a 1986. but im using the same fork.

i put the z bar in the back hole close to the trans. plus i got a new clutch,flywheel and throw out bearing for a 1986. the fork is the same.

i forgot to say. the z bar is in the back hole in the engine. close to the trans. and the clutch did work to. thanks

sorry plus the same bellhousing. the engine is in the v8 position not the l6. and the z bar is in the back hole in the engine close to the trans. thanks
