How do you not chip painted bumpers with bolts?
Going to put on painted bumpers soon. The ones I took off were crazy chipped all around every bumper bolt...what are you guys doing to keep your bolts from messing up your painted or powder coated bumpers?
Im thinking like little rubber o rings or hose gaskets or something?

But I'm not sure about that. I do know that I didn't torque them down with an air hammer. Don't know how many pounds. Generous torque, not 200ftlbs. I saved the serious torque for bolts that connect the brackets to the frame.

run the nuts up and down the threads to make sure there r no obstructions b4 putting into the bumpa holes

My solution was mount and adjust fit, weld them in, grind heads off and prep the bumper and then paint it.

Do not use air tools to install. Use a hand ratchet and go very slowly

I would think that if they are properly prepped and painted, they won't chip just putting them on...with hand tools anyway.
I bet most chips happen when the bumper bumps something.
