My 67 doesn't turn sharp at all. I've only had it a couple days and I've to stop and back up 3 or 4 times because I wasn't going to make the corner. Is this normal or does my front end need something??

Does corner mean turning from one street to another, or into a parking space in a strip mall?

Mine is a 72 but has a lot of steering travel lock to lock...I would think a 67 would be similar.

my 72 turns better than i think it will. I just have to keep turning the wheel. its like it never ends.
My biggest problem is not yet being comfortable with where the hood ends and the back bumber ends.

Maybe I'm just turning the wheel the same amount as my new model vehicles and I need to turn the wheel further to get to the stops.

I'm gonna give it a try and see.

My 72 has power steering and it still takes at least one and most of the time two tries to get into most parking lot spaces. Those slots are getting smaller and smaller as well as the lanes.

The steering wheel does turn further than I was going, but still coming up short of getting this Bad Boy in a parking spot and driveway. I

Just go EZPZ ad remember it's a truck and not a slot car.

When soccer moms started driving big 4 door trucks for hauling kids around, the big 3 started making turn radius' a bit tighter and steering more car like. Too many complaints of trucks turning like trucks.

Check to see if you have the same number of turns from center to the right lock and center to the left lock. I had the alignment done on my '67 and they set the steering wheel to be straight rather than centering the steering box. I had a half turn more to right than the left. Until I got it corrected I always found parking spots that I could turn right into.

alot of guys that put bigger tires on the truck cant figure out why the turn radius increases

I just got on to post this very thing. I noticed it picking up my little one at school. I can turn much further to the left han to the right. I was gonna ask what the deal was... Is this a hard fix? Thanks Mater

Lots of turns lock to lock just means you have a 16:1 ratio steering box. A 12:1 box reduces the number of turns of the wheel lock to lock but the turn radius of the truck is the same for both boxes.

When Brother Brigham layed out the streets in Salt Lake City, he made them wide enough so a 6-mule team pulling a wagon could make a U-turn. My town didn't get the memo, and our street is fairly narrow. That being said, I can be driving one direction and easily do a U-turn into the 45 degree parking slots on the other side of the road. I don't know what steering box I have, but it always amazes me how tight it will turn. I guess I'm lucky on that score. I wonder what the 'normal' turning radius is on these trucks.

make sure your center link is in correctly and not backwards this will affect turning radius it's happened to me twice on these trucks
