Changing window channel

I am changing all the window channel felts and wipers . Do you have to remove the vent window assembley to do this ? How do you replace the channel behind the division bar? can someone explain the process for this ? Thanks for any help .

Re: Changing window channel

You are going to have to gut the door of the window glass and the vent assy to get at the channel and felt. Then install the inside felt strip the vent assy and window. Lastly install the outer strip. The channel bar will unbolt once you remove the window you can get it out. Easier for me to work on the door laying flat on a table but many have no problem doing this with the door installed. Gravity and working in the dark kick my patience pretty hard.
