Thanks for all the complements guys. It still needs a lot of work, but you get the idea.

I have spent enough at harbor freight to pay a years worth of your salary! lol. I love that we have one close by. There tools work great for me. I know a lot of ppl don't like them but oh well. I'm not complaining!

I have had no luck on the job hunt. Everyone kept telling me they were waiting till after the first, Well its after the first. I'm going to hit up those companies again and see what happens.

Same here, I've sent out so many resumes, I had to make a list to keep track of who I sent them too... and yeah, same BS, after the 1st after the 1st, after the 1st, now it's February, March, and even SRPING! At least you have a garage to play in, my wife and I were going to buy a house early this year, but changed our plans a couple months ago when I got laid off, so I'm stuck not being able to play with my toys at all, we renewed our apartment lease for the end of June

Oh, and by back the camera up, I meant take an overall pic of the dash, I reread read my post and that might not have made any sense

I was just thinkin about askin if the shrinker and stretcher were harbor freight tools, and how they work. I considered buyin a set of 'em a few times but always talk myself out of it for one reason or another.

I would not hesitate to buy a shrinker streatcher set from Harbor Freight. I was the same way though. I have a buddy using a set and I played with them for a week at his shop. I also had the chance to use a high dollar set just before those that we borrowed. I can't tell the difference in them. The quality may have beed a little better in the cast parts of the high dollar ones, but I am not making a living with them and for a couple of hundred dollars less, I'm good. You should get them, they do more then just window trim. That afore mentioned buddy of mine is making fenders from scratch using them.

It is now 1:50 in the morning and the driver side of the dash is almost complete. I still have to take the dash back out and finish welding it all up. I have some bracing I want to put in the middle as well. The stock truck dash supports around the steering column will have to be raised around a 1/4" or so or it will look dumb.

Thank you very much. I am really just winging it and hoping it will turn out ok. This is the first build I have ever done. This is also the first bit of fabrication I have done. Metal work facinates me. I messed with an s-10 before this, but It never acually ran. Sold it.

John Paul....lookin' good. I was gonna throw in a pix I took of your dash until I saw the full-width pix. What amazes me is that I drove a '59 Ford and it seemed huge. To know that you had to widen the dash to make it fit is mind-boggling.

At first I wondered why an Edsel dash...Now that I've seem the full width pic I kinda like it! It'll be unique anyway.
Did ya fab the "widening" section or use 2 dashes?

Are ya gonna form to doors to match where they meet the dash? I think that'd make it look even better.

nice fabracating skills, I know I couldn't even begin to do a project like that. It sure will look unique when you are done. those side pieces you added, you could put in AC vents in there if you ever wanted to add AC, or did the edsel already have them in place? are you using a 58 or 59 dash?

Im not sure I could find two Edsel dashes. The center section was fabed using a metal brake. I had to add like 5 inches to the length in the center and well at least an inch or two on each end. The 59 fords had really thick doors that made them wider. the doors I swear are like a foot and a half to two feet thick. My buddy still has them, I will have to measure them next time im over there.

I am going to do something on the doors, Not sure what yet, but something. You can see the end of the dash through the vent window and I don't like it and I can't afford the one peice glass kit that would hide it at the moment. I am just making it up as I go.
