Flowmaster Super 10s?

I recently purchased 2 Flowmaster super 10s 2.5 inch to put on my 1986 Gmc Sierra Classic. The truck has a new Sbc 350 (nothing crazy around 300 hp) true duals with no cats. I'm 18 and my dad is warning me that I will get pulled over by the cops because the truck is too loud. What do you guys think?

Noise related 'violations' are selectively enforced. If you're doing something dumb while behind the wheel, it's a safe bet they'll have issue w/the noise level. Don't do stupid stuff & your chances improve.....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Flowmaster Super 10s?

I ran them on my big block. They are loud but if you aren't on it most people wouldn't notice.

I ran my 350Z with straight pipes. Loudest car around my area. Never pulled over but I would let off the throttle when I saw police.

I teach high school Mechanics.

I am of the opinion that every young man, at some point in their life, should have a vehicle loud enough to set off car alarms and make conversation virtually impossible.

I've had a few.

I'm also no longer 16, and I run some relatively quiet mufflers now.

This, I've had 1 loud car and it was enough to make you beg for mercy on the freeway with the drone! I got over the loud car stuff quickly.

Re: Flowmaster Super 10s?

Since when do kids listen to their parents? They are usually right but kids like to learn the hard way. Just start saving some money for fines and make sure you don't drink or smoke while cruising around in your loud truck. That will make even more tickets. I got so many tickets in my youth that I was prevented from joining the Air Force. I had so many fines I had to drop out of college to start paying them. I can't say I recommend messing with the cops. It's better to go incognito and fly under the radar and hindsight is 20/20. Good luck.

Re: Flowmaster Super 10s?

When I was 18, it was a Trans Am with Glass Packs, and it wasn't loud enough.

Now that I'm MUCH older, it's an LT1 wagon with big Magnaflows, because I like it to Purr.
