side molding adhesive ?'s

so I finally located and bought some very good almost perfect upper side molding for my 72 LB. What do you all suggest for adhesive for the plastic clips that go on the side of the truck. I was thinking some of the 3m double sided adhesive pads. Any and all suggestions please.

Yep, that would be with the red peel off backing. That's what I used on my '71.

Re: side molding adhesive ?'s

I get it at walmart as it's cheaper...just make sure to get the auto grade not the craft stuff as it's not as strong (get it from the auto dept where the touch up paint is usually)

From what I hear...easier to line up, no drilling necessary (if adding trim),
works good, lasts longtime.

GM used several types of clips to attach the 69-72 upper body side molding.

- Front fender & cab corner moldings use metal clips with studs that are secured with nuts on the back side.
- Door moldings have a screw at the front and a stud-clip w/nut at the rear edge. The remaining clips in the middle are either springy metal type clips that snap into holes or the adhesive backed plastic clips. I believe GM used the snap-in clips for 69-70 and the adhesive ones for 71-72.
- Bedside moldings have a metal snap-in clip at each end for all years. The remaining clips in the middle are either more snap-in clips (69-70) or the adhesive backed clips (71-72).

The adhesive backed clips could be used in more locations than they were from the factory to reduce the number of holes. Especially on the front fenders.
