1983 Chevy C-20

Hi guys, just wanted to post up a few pics of my beater 1983 C-20. I found this truck last year at the gas station where this guy had flooded it out in -20 temps and could not get it running. I towed it home as he had poured 4 litres of gas down the carb, did an oil change, tossed on a rebuilt Q jet and drove it around doing burnouts!!! It has a healthy 350 that was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago, 78,000 on the truck, TH-400 shifts great and 3.73 gears. I paid $400 for it and it is rough. We set it up to be a workhorse and put a welding rig in the back... The truck started well and has been super reliable. I get a lot of compliments on it even though it is rusty. Adding air bag helpers in the rear and hope to get 10 plus years out of it!

Black and white looks cool with the old bias ply tires... We left them on as they still have good tread and we don't drive it on the highway just around the farms and stuff and in town:

Got these fibreglass skins for $80 so I can use them to cover up the rust if I find the time.
Some progress:

Where did you find those skins? I found some a few years ago but can't find them now.

Found them on Kijiji the online classifieds here new in the bags for $80 for all of them... I looked them up and then have not been sold in about 10 years or more. pretty cool I think I plan on using 3M epoxy to attach them to the body and then wait and make sure they stay put and if they do then just smooth the transition between the skin and the metal and give it a home done paintjob. Will be better than rust holes I figure.
