That's an odd ball problem.....kinda like "my buddy ran over my seats thinking they were in the scrap heap" problem. I am not sure if the turn signal cam would have anything to do with this, but I doubt it. The shift indicator should move freely, but down at the base where the turn signal is I don't think it should. Maybe test it by taping the column so it won't move like it is hooked to linkage. Is everything tight on the column outside the firewall?
