alt. bracket 53 gmc
do they make an inexpensive bracket to mount alt. see some in classic ind. catalog

Stock engine?
If so, try putting the alternator on a long bolt that runs through both ends of the generator bracket so it butts up against the front one. See if the belt will line up. If it will work make a spacer for the space that is left between the alternator and back bracket. I did that on a 235 in a 53 pickup and it's still on the pickup 30 years later. |

thanks did that have to modify top adjusting bracket also changing gas guage to 12 volt any help
