Suburban on Ebay tempting me!!

The ebay auciton is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

But it's in California and I'm in Michigan. Anybody available to check it out, how much will it cost to have it shipped? Hmm maybe a cross country driving trip is in order?

I had a truck shipped from Washington State to Texas and the quotes for an open carrier were anywhere from $1000 - $2000.

I just sold a Firebird and the guy had it shipped from here in California all the way to Long Island, New York. It only cost him $850. I think he went through a broker, when the trucker got here he was very surprised. He was with Horseless Carriage haulers, and when he saw this piece of junk Firebird he copped a bit of a snobitude. "We are not wreckers, last week I was at Pebble Beach, we are exclusive shippers of Maserati, Ferrari, etc.... I don't want to scratch my polished wood floor!" But then he went to his truck to call his boss, when he came back his attitude was different. I think he felt like a jerk, because he was really nice after that.
It was quite a hilarious experience.... my kids and wife and I had to push the car down the block to where the pavement is, because he did not want to get dirt on his floor!! (he helped us push it) After he left, he came back and brought my boys both a poster of Lamborghinis, that's why I think he felt bad. He even gave us a tour of his truck and sleeper.... turned out to be a real nice fella, just a little out of his ordinary day to day life. I think it was an eye opener for both of us!

Production-wise, more liftgate/tailgate burbs were made than the barn door variety. All panels had barn doors however.
