Weather Stripping
I order weather stripping for the door. I was wondering what kind of glue to use and where to get it. Also looking for any advice or tips.

If you have the type that is glued in place, any auto parts store will have weatherstripping glue - it's kinda like contact cement.
Only tip I can think of is to have it start (and stop, heh) at the bottom to help eliminate leaks - and in an a location where you won't be apt to kick it getting in or out of the truck.

Prefit the weatherstrip first to the truck and then go back and add the glue. Get the "black" super weatherstrip adhesive. That is the best one in my opinion to use. Remember less is more.

I got the s10 seals from GMCPauls (not sure what year) and they are a nice buy. Were installed in 5 minutes with no glue required, and the look better from inside the truck than the stock type. And no cutting required!
When you put them on your door is not going to shut. You need to slam the door and let it sit with the doors shut for a while, and maybe adjust them out a few mm's. But it'll seal up good. |
