is the 14 bolt dually rear the same width as the non dually?

and to convert it from dual to single rear wheels is just swapping the drums/brakes?

thats correct the axles are the same width the only thing needed to change is the hub drum assembly!

This is true and not true. If all you're wanting to do is swap to DRWs then swapping hubs will work. If you're wanting to run a regular dually bed with the rear fenders you'll need a standard DRW rear end. Cab and chassis trucks came with narrower axles than the standard dually trucks and the single wheels are in the middle.
Measurements are from WMS to WMS
Cab and chassis are 63.5"
Single wheels are 67.5"
And DRWs are 72"
So if you have a single wheel rear end and swap dually hubs on to it you will have a cab and chassis axle. Which is fine but if you're running a fleet side bed the wheels will be sucked way under it and will rub the inside of the wheel wells if you dont cut them out. And, keep in mind the brake flanges welded to the axle that your backing plates bolt to are spaced differently on each axle also, so it's not just a bolt on affair swapping hubs/drums around.
