'60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

If you have a manual transmission in your truck and also want power brakes, this is what you need. This bracket is fabricated from laser cut 10ga. mild steel and fits 1960-62 Chevy and 1960-63 GMC pickups, Suburban and Panels and is 100% bolt on using holes already in your firewall. The booster side of the bracket has a 3 3/8" x 3 1/2" hole pattern. Boosters with this pattern are commonly found on S10's and full size pickups from 1988 to at least 1998, Suburbans, Blazers and Tahoes from 1992 to at least 1998. You can also find compatable boosters on early to mid 70's Impalas and Caprices. Of course you will have to join the booster pushrod to your stock MC pushrod that attaches to your brake pedal. This can be done by either threading both ends and using a coupling nut, or by just welding them together once you determine the correct length.

For the hydraulic clutch master, this is setup to use a readily available Wilwood master cylinder. To install the master cylinder you will have to drill (2) 11/32" holes for the mounting bolts, and a 1 1/2" hole (with a hole saw) to accommodate the center of the master cylinder. The supplied standoff simply bolts to your clutch pedal using an existing hole. Then the pushrod and heim joint screw onto the clutch master pushrod on one end and to bolts to the standoff on the other end.

This adapter plate kit contains the adapter plate with mounting hardware, the standoff, pushrod and heim joint with related hardware and the Wilwood master cylinder. The cost on this is $260.00 plus the flat rate shipping cost of $22.65. As with my other brake booster brackets, you can add powder coating for an additional $10.50. This pricing is always current and up to date. To place an order, post in this thread, send me a PM or send an email to captainfab454@hotmail.com, and I will give you the ordering and payment instructions and current lead time.

Here are some more pics. The turquoise booster is a dual diaphram unit from a 1982-87 S10.

Re: '60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

Here are a couple of pics with a booster from a 1988-98 fullsize pickup, or 1992-98 Suburban, Blazer, or Tahoe. The clearance is a little less with the clutch master, but it is still easy to get at the cap.

Re: '60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

Your best bet is to use the master cylinder that is designed for the braking system that you have on your truck. You didn't say if yours is stock or not, but if it is, you can use a dual reservior master from a '67-'70 pickup. If you have upgraded to front discs from say a '73-'87 then use a master from those years. Let me know when you want to get the booster bracket and clutch master combo.

That's a beautifully designed piece, much better than the Master Power offering. If my truck wasn't already done I'd install one in mine. The package deal is well thought out and value priced.

Re: '60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

The cab that I used for R&D has the return spring up high, so I don't believe there is any need to relocate it. That is unless your truck has a different return spring arraingment.

It can be seen in the upper right of this pic.

I have the same clutch setup as Mojakeke on a 62 GMC Suburban 4X4. Did you find a way to make it work on this setup?
Thanks,
Tim

Re: '60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

I haven't heard back from Mojakeke on how the install went. If he doesn't chime in here you might send him a PM. The cab that I used for the R&D was a Chevy cab, so that must be where the difference lies. I would think that all you would need to do is convert to a Chevy style return spring.

Re: '60-'62 POwer Brake Booster Adapter Bracket With A Clutch

I thought I saw somewhere that you offer a bracket for a manual MC with and the wilwood clutch MC. Am I crazy?

I would like to use a newer manual Brake MC with a separate Clutch MC for use with Disc Brakes, and to get rid of my stock dual MC.
