A sticky question???

I have a blob of Pine Tar (from our Pine Tree, that has deposited itself on my Windshield.
Did notice until I went to the Gas station, so I'll use the Window Squeegy......
...WRONG.
Now I have a smeared -smudge 3"X5" in my Drivers line of sight.
Before I start throwing Chemicles at it,
(and I DON'T give a Sh*t about my Carbon Footprint)

Razor Blade with Windex?
Acetone?

Also there are some nasty Glue spots on my Cowl Hood from the packaging.
I was going to wait until it cooled down later tonight and try some
"Goo-Gone" on it, as I don't want to use anything that might take the Black Gel Coat ......
(or whatever kind of coat it is), off.

Ideas???

Roger

Re: A sticky question???

A couple a rags and a can of Gum-Out carb cleaner has worked for me in the past. Using any kind of razor blade, can run the risk of scratching the glass. Bin there done that...

I used to live at a place that had pine tree's, and that's what I would use to get it off the glass. Though I wouldn't use it on any painted surfaces.

BTW.... Thanks for all the help guys.
Turned out I found some Goo-Gone, so on the Hood I soaked the SH*T out of it and used my Thumbnail to scrape it off.

On the Front Windshield I also uesd Goo-Gone and a Razor Blade, followed by Window Cleaner and Rags.

All ready to go to the Exhaust shop tomorrow for all new Exhaust Tubing, Flow Tech Cut-Outs and 4" Chrome slashed Tips in Front of the Rear Tires!!

Re: A sticky question???

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!! we have lived in Florida for 4 years and have 19 pine trees in our yard. I have tried treatment after treatment and found the true answers. You can use isopropyl alcohol if the sap is still fresh and take the polish off the wife's nails at the same time. Use a cotton swab or paper towel. You can use an ice cube in a paper towel over the area but it takes more time. Hand sanitizer (the kind you need no water) works the best for me. No matter what kind, use it in the shade and wash your truck after to prevent a cloudy film. I have 19 pine trees free to the first taking.I have used these methods on the 66, my 99 silverado and the wifes 09 toyota with no problem. I should bottle the stuff as pine sap killer.

Although I know exactly where you're talking about, it wasn't me. I usually stay on the north end of the lake.

Do you ever do any "Local Shows"?
Sometimes the Wife and I do the "Cloverdal Street Celebration" in September.
