Over a year ago I posted these same pics after finding out that the owner of this was thinking about selling it and would give me first shot.....my head started spinning with various build plans after I got my hands on it. I've talked to him a few times over the year (he's lives close to me), but didn't bug him about selling it. Anyway....he knocked on my door tonight and said he's ready!

The owner, probably in his 70's, got the truck from his father who bought the truck new down in the Palm Springs area.....nice dry vehicle friendly environment. Truck is rust free and appears to have original paint. Has factory air (no compressor). Originally a 307/3 on the tree truck but now has a 350/350 combo that the owner says has some vibration in it that he or his mechanical shop can't sort out (not relevant for my plans but relevant for purchase price).

Just talking, he mentioned he'd love to get $4k for it, but realizes he won't. Kinda gets me in the ballpark for what he may want.....all along I'm thinking around $2k!

Sweet truck. I love original trucks. I would give 3000 for the truck myself to restore to original configuration. But thats me. The truck you see to the left is my sons truck we have been building for a while. You need to jump on the truck.......good hunting..........

I'd think it's worth $3k-$4k for rust free sheet metal.
I hope you don't have plans to paint it.
I love that old original paint.

I like the original dull paint as well......only problem is that if I get my hands on it, I will have to make it a shorty.

That's a pretty funky bowtie on the door panel! Looks like a nice "unmolested" survivor. California prices always seem to be a bit higher than what we see up here...but then who is to say what a fair price is...whatever you are willing to pay for it. Your trucks usually have alot less rust than our trucks.

Believe me....I appreciate the lack of corrosion in this part of the country! I grew up in Iowa and have enough experience with rust! I feel for you guys and appreciate the work and talent required to replace rusted rockers, cab corners, etc.....

I paid $2800 for a rust free truck like that just to get the cab with air it was a CST

I would love that bed too...
Being that my truck is a 50th with a different bed, grandma bought it with no bed, someone smashed it up like no other, she got it for cheap and threw the green one on it.

I have an Anniversary also and would love to see more of this one. Can you at least get more interior pics if you decide not to buy it? I'm not sure but that interior colors including the dash pad is hard to get.

Thanks for all the input......gives me a feel for what to offer the guy for the thing.

.....and there's no "long bed hate" here. I just happen to like shorts better and though it may make some long bed fans cringe at the thought of cutting a really nice bed up.....all I can say is that if you're gonna cut one up, it's best to start out with a nice one!!! After all, nice original beds (short or long) are hard to find.

We'll see how things work out and if I even end up with it.

I agree...$3-$4000 is a fair price for a rust free 50th. As been said in the
Mid-West it is rare to find a rust free truck. Good luck and keep us posted!
