Tach wire up questions

I have the brown wire from the tach harness going out through the firewall and it is connected to the spade on the left side on the hei distributor. The Hot Lead black wire is connected to the side closest to the firewall, which is the right side .

I have this pink wire inside the cab that is part of the tach harness that has two connectors on it and I need to know what they hook up to and where .

I understand that the two prong end with the pink and brown wire goes to the tach .
I was wondering if this is universal harness and was made for more than one applicaton ? Pic below . gp

Re: Tach wire up questions

You say its connected to the BATT side of the HEI? It should go to the other terminal, TACH. Just checking to make sure its on the right terminal. If you are facing the dizzy, its the left side of the connector on it.

My distributor has 2 places to connect wires .. the one closest to the front of the truck is where I have the tach wire (brown)connected and the one closest to the firewall is the hot wire (black)..

I just do not know exactly where to plug in the two wires shown in picture taken from under my dash above in my post ..

Re: Tach wire up questions

The pink wire should be hooked into one of the ignition unfused slots, the hei should be plugged into the other ignition unfused slot. You should be good to go as long as it is plugged into the tach after that.
