What do you guys think? This is obviously a photoshop, but it gives an idea of what I plan to do. I will most likely do a solid red instead of the two tone...

Do you like the red rally wheels?
Do you like the stock two tone or should I go solid red?

How about the drop? I will most likely do a 4' in front and 5' flip in back(since the difference is only 1' on my truck, not 2")

I think solid colors look best on lowered trucks. If they are two toned, I prefer the color to change on the body line, about a foot above yours.

I don't like color matched rally wheels. The only non-silver ones I have seen that I liked were red ones on a black primered truck.

These are just my opinions, of course, and you will probably get a lot of different opinions. You asked...

I have to pretty much agree with Slonaker. For some reason the two-tone broken on the bottom line makes the truck look longer. I would vote for a solid color or if your stuck on two tone, run it down the center.

You really need some chrome wheels to wake everything up. The rallies look fine on lighter colors, but I prefer chrome or polished wheels on dark colors.

Try to photoshop some different wheels with that same paint scheme. I might change my mind...

I don't care for the rallys. I'd go with a bigger wheel too, but that is jmo.

I agree with everyone else that the rallys painted red don't look good on it. But the lowering does look good. Add the paint job they mentioned would look really good as well.

This is how it looks currently.

I like the red wheels myself (especially on a yellow truck). I would like some 20" Salt Flat Specials, but I am sticking with the Rallys. This is my secondary project.

The real money is going to the car that actually has the possibility of being fast.

Reviving a real old thread here, but I like this look!!!
The '84 rust free body I have to swap on to my '82 very rusty 2wd Blazer is the the same paint scheme. Just add a white Blazer top and it is exact (I think - its been about 2 months since I looked at the donor truck?). I was planning to paint the rallye's the same color red as the body too. To each thier own I guess?
I usually like color matched rallye wheels. I changed out the rims on the truck I bought last week with my semi-gloss black rallyes from my '81 Jimmy (Black) and think it looks way better. When I put on the rallye's that are going to stay on the truck on I will probably color match them to the lower color of my 2-tone (a dark gray).

That is an old thread...

Nobody really liked the color-matched rallys nor the lowered longbed...

That sounds like it will be a good looking Blazer.

I have my Suburban ready to begin taking apart to put the engine in the Blazer. Get it running good enough to be a everyday driver, then start thinking about how to go about the body swap.
Question is, would it be easier to do a body swap, or convert the 4x4 to 2wd????

The faster car you alluded to in a previuos post, would that be the GN in the froeground of your avatar, or the yellow (GS I am assuming) in the background?

kevin - I wish it were a GN or GSX. No, it's a WRX.

corn - Well, I initially lowered it while rebuilding the suspension, then I raised it with HD springs. That's all, nothing more. I still want to build a nice, low truck in the future, but will probably wait to find an older truck (pre-71 to avoid emissions) (got my eyes on a 52 right now, but it probably won't happen).

What color did you paint your rallyes? It looks an awful lot like the color I'd like to paint the rallyes on my GMC.

I think my buddy sent me the pics of the Buicks in the avatar to taunt me. I went to high school with a guy that built a clone GSX. My senior year I was considering buying an aqua GS455 with a white vinyl top and white interior. I wish I had, that was a cool car.

No, the WRX is a lot of fun, especially in the snow. Only two liters and it runs low 14's from the dealer. It's also the same color as the 66 GTO we had when I was a kid, which was a plus for me.

The color is Duplicolor Gunmetal (same as anthracite just about). It is a blue can with pics of wheels on it and it says it is specifically for wheels. I found it at Autozone. I painted my headlight bezels to match also.
