Blazer seats - options?
I've got 3 Blazers 4x4s w/only 1 set of original seats between them. Any ideas on a good source for originals, or is there a different type of seat that is a common replacement? Also, I bought a bracket to repair a broken frame (near steering box) from a member a year ago - he cashed the check, but forgot to send the bracket. Any suggestions on the frame? Great site!http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/i...s/flagwave.gif

Re: Blazer seats - options?
Thank you - do you have any idea what price range should be, from barely usable to good?

Re: Blazer seats - options?
73/77 lowback are fairly cheap compared to 69/72.They bolt right in and it is very easy to make make 69/72 covers work there is very little differance.

Re: Blazer seats - options?
I have seen barely usable (Needs everything) go for $300+
if the frames, all hardware, and center console is all there. Recovered, new foam, console, & all hardware $600-$1600. I know there are deals out there, but they are very sparce.

Re: Blazer seats - options?
Athough these seats are "close" to the 69-72 buckets the driver seat tracks will not align with the 69-72 Blazer factory locations. Passenger tracks with forward tilt will work but are "different" from the earlier ones. Ask me how I know.

Re: Blazer seats - options?
I restore seats for these trucks and always keep cores in stock, we dont sell the cores because they are getting harder to find. 73-75 look very similar but the brackets sit much higher and dont line up with the original mounting holes, also 69-72 brackets dont bolt up to the 73-75 seat frames without modification, then there is a ton of foam building because the foam is much smaller and last but not least the seat skirts are angled on 73-75 seats so either the upholstery has to be modified or extra sheetmetal added to the bottom of the seats for proper look and fit. Lots of info, but what you should know if you are looking for seats for these vehicles. I would love to help you or anyone else in need of seats, feel free to contact me with any questions or needs. As the cost of materials continues to rise these seats become more expensive to build but we try to keep our cost below that of other competitors. For a fully restored set of seats it is running about 1200.00 right now, thats ready to bolt in show condition, we also accept rebuildable cores in exchange or buy them from time to time.
thanks, chris |

I have 2 sets of Blazer seats w/all brackets. One set has been poorly "re-foamed" and is poorly reupholstered. The other has not been touched. I'd like to get both sets redone properly. What part of the Country are you located? The rear seats have different mounts, but both look like factory set ups. Thanks, Mike |

Re: Blazer seats - options?
The 69-72 there were two kinds of seats built i found this out when i received my covers from LMC Truck and the were way to small. After contacting who builds the covers for LMC i was told i had FAT BOY Buckets
they have a wider seat and back on them to which they sent me the correct covers. Later i found on e-bay a nice set of the same type out of a 69 i am using them to replace highbacks to the original in my other Jimmy. GOOD LUCK BUT THEY ARE OUT THERE FROM TIME TO TIME. |

Re: Blazer seats - options?
Lmc truck gave me the contact that builds the covers i will try to dig it up for you. I had to send them one of the covers that i removed from the old seat for them to measure. They then built me the black vinyl with the scroll that i was wanting. I had thought that utility was the correct name the lady who was making the covers said they called them fatboy seats guess its a nickname.
