Would it add value?

Just curious, does adding an aftermarket AC to a non- air truck add any resale value?? Do you think you can recoup the cost??

Re: Would it add value?

i think it would add a litte extra value especially when selling in the summer. but overall nowhere near the cost of installing a premium system. i'd think maybe 10%the cost of the system would b added to the truck

Re: Would it add value?

i think you would easily recoup the expense of the unit , the wives will not ride in one without ac....and we know women make or break alot of deals

Re: Would it add value?

I`d say it would add at least $1,000 if not the whole cost or more.A lot would depend on the rest of the truck being up to snuff where adding air was the icing on the cake.If I bought an unoriginal truck I think I`d rather have a new/newish modern A/C system than a 40 year old one.I`ve had plenty of "air" trucks that I never saw the A/C work on.All it meant was one less kick panel vent to cool me off.

Re: Would it add value?

It don't think it would add much value if any. Me personally, I like original stuff. If I was looking to buy a truck, and I wanted AC, I would look for one with factory AC and would pass on one with aftermarket AC. That's just me though.

Re: Would it add value?

Here in Florida we do not need a heater but A/C is a must so I will say depending on the market area it will payoff to add a/c.

Re: Would it add value?

Here in Cali it would be a big selling point to have A/C, so I know it would get some extra $$.

Re: Would it add value?

Well...thinking about adding it to my truck....although I think since it isn't a DD it is sort of a waste....I may put 1500-2000 miles on it over the past year...granted it gets hot, it still a want and not a necessity.....especially since I want to build more of a driver and may save it for that?!?!?

Thanks for your input....anyone else??

Re: Would it add value?

I THINK A GOOD HIGH QUALITY SETUP LIKE VINTAGE AIR OR ANTIQUE AIR OR OLD AIR WOULD PAY OFF, BUT ONE OF THE CHEASY PERIOD CORRECT DEALER INSTALLED UNDER DASH UNITS WOULD DETRACT FROM THE VALUE. BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION. JOHN
