whats the deal with up22.com

so im really needing a hood and they are the cheapest i have found, but i have heard some other board members complain about them i believe, also if i were to get a full pin on raceweith hood from there whats stopping me from jsut changing my hood spring ad mounting the hood to the old hood hinge and just pinning on the front

thanks LZ

At one time, they led the better business bureau with bad reports. I'm not sure how they are now, but they were awful for years. I got a vega hood and had 200 hrs in it to make it presentable!

I bought an Unlimited Products hood for a Camaro several years ago and the fit was not very good, to say the least. I guess you get what you pay for.
Whatever brand you go with, the race weight will not have any reinforcement for the hood hinges and, in my opinion, would not work as such. I would suggest dzus fasteners to mount the hood and then paint them body color.

well i mean this hood is for my daily driver and if she breaks down on me which never has happened but if it does it would take two people to lift a full pin on hood off

Re: whats the deal with up22.com

I've been down this road already. I first bought a race-weight liftoff hood from a place called Creative Glass in Tn. It fit ok, but had to make some brackets and use dzus fastners to mount it. It also took 2 people to remove or replace it. I got tired of this very quickly, sold the pin-on hood, and bought a bolt-on from Unlimited Products. It did take some work, but not really that much. Overall, I'm happy with it and it doesn't take 2 people to get underhood access!

From what I understand, Creative Glass is out of business. Unlimited Products is where my bolt-on hood came from ( up22.com ).

Re: whats the deal with up22.com

i knew a guy who bought a cowl hood from them for his 85 burb. Fit ok but they did`nt finishe the cowl part very well. One side of the raised cowl was curved and the other side was cut flat. I would`nt buy from them. Try US Body source.

Re: whats the deal with up22.com

I bought some chevelle bumpers from unlimited products some time ago. I was not impressed with the fit, or quality.

I have bought parts from US Body Source and their stuff has always been very nice quality and they will work with you on the weight of the parts depending on your needs (street, race, street race).
