How does the 5.3 do carbed?.. Was the wiring very hard to convert over?

It runs well. Has a box stock Edelbrock 600 on it and hasn't missed a beat. Eventually I'll throw my wideband on it and change the jets as needed, but I'm in no huge hurry.

Wiring was easy. The MSD harness plugs into the factory 5.3 connections and you just need a constant and key on power. Pretty simple.

Great looking truck!! You guys must be very proud of yourselves!

You need to tell your dad when you are about to take the picture so he can at least fake a smile. That dude isn't smiling in any of your pictures!

As first time painters ourselves, we don't have anything to compare it to.

But for the price, I don't think it can be beat. It covered well, sprayed well.

The epoxy is tough as nails. Have some overspray the we STILL can't get off. LOL!

I found very little info about summit paint on the net, but went for it anyway. From what I've read about other entry paints, I think it's just as good.

Here is what you need to know to run a carb on an LS motor.
http://www.aera.org/ep/downloads/ep1...2010_10-19.pdf

If I had started my project a few years later, I would be running an LS motor.

Nice work!! I want a 4X2 Blazer with a 5.3 so bad!!

I bet that motor would like a 1407 with some tuning. I'm itching to get my hands on one for a project. I see you didn't opt for A/C. There are options to add a compressor up high instead of down low.

Re: LS Swapped 85 K10...DONE!!!!! Lots o pics

I ran the calculators, and it seems that a 600cfm is about perfect for a stock 5.3. It could use some tuning, and I have a wideband, but haven't taken the time to see what my A/F ratio is looking like.....

And about the A/C......

Re: LS Swapped 85 K10...DONE!!!!! Lots o pics

It was a huge PITA to put it on. Bracket had to be grinded down, frame in the way, etc.

But it's all worth it in this hot MS weather.

Top mount would have been nice, but it's way expensive.

Nice truck. I think I've seen it in passing, around Tupelo. I'm in Hamilton, AL but do alot of shopping an eating and such in Tupelo.

Looked over the threads but must have missed the lift size and wheel and tire size. All fits together very well not to clutered but not lacking either.

Here is the cheapest way to add A/C.

http://www.maliburacing.com/forum/vi...hp?=34&t=79059

The bracket is stock and easily found at the boneyard. On a good v belt compressor, only the clutch needs to be changed.

Someone semi local! haha

Doubt you've seen it..first time it's been driven around time was last week. ut if you come through now, you probably will. My Dad has been driving it all over

2" springs and zero rate on the front, 2" blocks out back, and 33x12.50x20. And that's what we were going for, just a clean stock appearing truck.

I saw that a while back, but can't get over how ugly the compressor and tensioner looks Just looks old.

If I did it, it would be using the kwik performance brackets and Sanden compressor.

Ya about every 2-3 weeks or so. i actually live right on the state line off hwy 78.

Maybe I will get a look at it at one of the shows or maybe the Blue Suede Cruise next year. I really like that show, some really nice cars. Seems to be getting bigger.

I'm running that same size in a 15" on my 94 Z71. Got about the same amount of lift. Installed aftermarket torsion bar keys and add-a-leafs in the rear. Would like to run a 20 next time around but there a little salty for daily driving.

Re: LS Swapped 85 K10...DONE!!!!! Lots o pics

Drive right through there all the time, GF goes to school in Bham.

I didn't get to to the the Blue Suede Cruise this year, but my dad went and said it was a good bit bigger than last years.

And it rides good to me, but I'm used to riding on 275/45/20's haha
