what would you suggest fixing these with? i took my cab lights off tonight and this is what's underneath. my truck looks 400 times better without those lights!

You can fill them in with a mig welder.

if you take your time and keep the heat down it wont warp the roof.....one tack at a time.. best of luck

i dont have a welder so i will have to pay to have it done. i think i'm just gonna fill my trim holes with fusor.

Well it'd be nice to invest in a mig welder. Can get setup for 5-6 hundred. When filling holes, you can use a heat sink, such as copper or aluminum, just kinda bend to fit behind the piece being fixed, it'll distribute the heat evenly, therefore less warping, and also, mild steel wont stick to aluminum or copper, so you wont run the wire thru and keep opening up the hole or have a big gob of weld on the back of the panel to grind down.

how would you get a piece of copper or aluminum inside the roof? I have heard of the penny trick before, but those are some small holes.

I welded mine up with my MIG. No need to back it if you use the right technique. I made filler pieces from 18 gauge and cooled the welds with a wet rag. No problem! Come on over and I will do yours for free...no charge...nada! I know it is a bit of drive but what the hey!

If you cut a circular piece of sheet metal (use a hole saw without the center bit) that fits inside the hole in the cab roof you can use a strong magnet to hold the patch piece in while you get it tacked. Buy a mig welder it will be the best money you have ever spent. I don't blame you for taking those lights off They look like something out of a jetsons episode. You might consider the teardrop ones though unless you are just dead set on the smooth cab roof look. Here is a pic of mine on my cab. Just my opinion but they are the nicest style of running lights as far as I am concerned.

I just cut the patch pieces square and then rounded them with my sander. Hold them with a pair of pliers...it goes pretty quick. I use the magnet on the end of my scribe to hold them in place while I tack them. Good choice...hate the clearance lights on anything smaller than a 1 ton flatbed...LOL!

The roof has considerble crown to it right there. You'd have to try hard to warp the metal in that area. The curve gives it a lot of stability.

Except for the larger center hole they can be welded easy. Filler would be idea for the center hole.
