2wd vs. 4wd rear leaf springs?

Hey All,

Are 4wd Leaf springs and 2wd leaf springs interchangable? I need to get the rear of my '76 up just a couple of inches. I have put the 4wd Tahoe leafs on it, and flipped it, but it is WAY low. Like, the rear receiver hitch is about 2" off the ground, and I tow a boat, so this is too low. So, I was wondering if the 4wd leafs were the same length, eye to eye, and do they have more of an arch?

I gotta get this raised up just a bit...Help!!!

Not your fault. It has 2-3 inches for of travel, but it is just a bit lower than I would like. If I just wanted it slammed, it would be awesome! I may just put leaf mounted bags on it.

How much total drop did you end up with using the newer springs and the flip?
I am planning on going that route (or similar) and am hoping for no more than ~3".

I think they are the same. The difference between 2/4wd is in the shackle hangers that are rivited on the frame. The 4wd ones are about 2" lower/longer if I remember right. This drops the spring mount down and raises the truck up.
