LS/4L60E help

I need some help getting this going and I am at a loss.

I have a new motor after issues with the 1st one.The new one is a 6.0 iron block that runs great at least in 1st gear and idle

I have had the PCM that came with the unit I bought and I have also recently had another PCM tuned by Garrett tuning in Ohio that was to help with shift points.

I also took out the original harness and put in a new PSI harness.

Still the same issues. Will shift in manual at least 1-3 but not in auto.

What am I missing. The speedo is a GPS unit from what I understand that should not matter.

Is it a tune is it a sensor?????

Re: LS/4L60E help

Need to make sure the PCM is getting a VSS signal, Do you have access to a scanner or capable software?

Do you have anything tied onto the VSS sensor wire/s?........If so remove it & retest.

The sensor coming from the tail shaft is there and goes to the PCM in the harness. Coming out of the harness Black Speedometer Module wire that says "optional" from the PSI instructions. It does not go anyplace. It is tapped up under the dash

Confirming whether or not the PCM is receiving a VSS signal is the next step in diagnosing this.

Re: LS/4L60E help

Well I am going to do that and change the sensor. I assume I can check the wire with a test light or meter?

Next question is: The sensor I have was new in the box so I installed it in the tranny.
Looking at parts websites many sensors look the same but different numbers.
Assuming I got the wrong part number but it fits what is the difference in sensors?
